J.R.N.L. - Izaiha Trumpets

J.R.N.L. is a personal EP built around the idea of music as journaling. Each track represents a written entry from my own journal, showcasing moments of reflection captured in sound. Documenting emotions, relationships, and internal conversations that are often difficult to express out loud.

The project is intentionally raw and intimate. Rather than aiming for perfection, J.R.N.L. embraces honesty, vulnerability, and presence, allowing listeners to step into thoughts and feelings as they unfold in real time.

The Process:
This EP was created with a feeling-first approach. Every production and mixing decision was guided by one question: Does this melody, texture, harmony, and music embody how this moment in time feels?

The process focused on:
- finding a balance between complex layers and minimal, intentional arrangements that leave space for emotion.

- Vocal-forward mixes designed to feel close and conversational
- Natural dynamics and texture over heavy polish
- A blend of layer heavy intense moments, subtle sound design and ambience to support, not distract from, the story

My Role:
I handled the full creative and technical workflow for J.R.N.L., including songwriting, production, recording, editing, mixing, and final delivery. From concept to release, this project reflects my approach to creating emotionally grounded sound with intention and care.

Why It Matters:
J.R.N.L. represents my belief that audio is more than a technical craft; it’s a responsibility. This EP stands as both a personal body of work and a reflection of how I translate feeling into sound.
